Annie Live arrives Thursday, December 2, and NBC has released the first trailer. Take a look below:
Celina Smith, 12, will take on the title role in the series, alongside Harry Connick Jr. as Oliver Warbucks, Taraji P. Henson as Miss Hannigan, Nicole Scherzinger as Grace, Tituss Burgess as the rooster and Jane Krakowski as Lily.
Alex Rudzinski will be the director of live television and executive producer, along with Lear deBessonet, the artistic director of New York City Center Encores! and creator of the Public Works program at the Public Theater, as a director. The production will feature choreography by winner Tony Sergio Trujillo, costumes by Paul Tazewell, sets by Jason Sherwood and orchestrations by Stephen Oremus. Bob Greenblatt and Neil Meron produce alongside Chloe Productions.
The musical adaptation of the Tony Award-winning Harold Gray comic book features music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin and a book by Thomas Meehan. This will be the fourth filmed iteration of the series, following the original 1982 film starring Carol Burnett and Albert Finney, the 1999 TV movie directed by Kathy Bates and Victor Garber, and the remake of the 2014 film, starring Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz.
