UAE launches green visa and visa system for freelancers

Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi on Sunday announced a green residency system and visa for freelancers.

“UAE announces Green Visa, a new residency system that separates residence permit from work permit, and targets the highest skill levels, investors, entrepreneurs, first students and graduates, and includes a package new privileges different from habitual residence. ”

A tweet also read: “UAE announces self-employed visa, the first such residency system at federal level, for self-employed self-employed.”

This took place during the press conference organized to unveil the 50 national economic projects aimed at establishing a phase of internal and external growth for the country.

“Today, under direction from management, we are unveiling the ‘Freelance’ visa, which is the first of its kind at the federal level, for self-employed self-employed,” Al Zeyoudi said.

According to Al Zeyoudi, recent changes to the residency system would set the UAE apart with a system that is the first of its kind in the world.

“The United Arab Emirates will be characterized by an integrated journey with regular residence visas, green and gold,” he added.

He further pointed out that these visas keep pace with the UAE’s guidance for the next phase, which is expected to witness a new boom to attract entrepreneurs, minds and talents.
