SV Pittie Sohar Textiles announced the full-fledged formal business operations of Phase 1 in the presence of its Board of Directors and senior finance bank officials, namely Sohar International Bank and Ahli Bank.
Phase 1 comprising Unit 1 – 3,500 rotors and Unit 2 – 150,000 spindles is one of the largest spinning facilities in the world and is the only one of its kind in the GCC region.
The mill is a modern, state-of-the-art technological facility capable of producing a variety of yarns ranging from coarse to fine yarns.
The cost of the project is RO 57 million.
Due to the facility’s unique location in the Sohar Free Zone, close to the port of Sohar, yarn produced in the Sultanate of Oman has a strategic and logistical advantage.
“The company is proud of its dedicated employees, especially the Omani operators who have joined the workforce after successfully completing an intense and enhanced training program. The 600 local employees represent an important and essential part of the production, quality and maintenance team. The manufactured yarn is exported around the world under the banner “Made in Oman by Omanis for the World”, says a statement released by the company.
The Board of Directors thanked the shareholders, the financing banks and the government authorities, in particular the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the port of Sohar and the free zone for their support in this journey. as the company began operations.
