From beginners to professionals, photography enthusiasts are invited to join the Rockhampton Photography Club during the Worldwide Photo Walk 2022 on Saturday.

The Worldwide Photo Walk is a social event where photographers walk around their city to take photos and meet other people with a common interest.

The walk around Rockhampton will be led by Rockhampton Photography Club President Rex Boggs and will begin at PnE Art and Bespoke Framing on East Street at 10am.

“Members of the public taking part in the walk are encouraged to submit a few photos to the 2022 Photo Walk competition, with the winning photographer being offered a free Rockhampton Photo Club membership until the end of 2023,” Mr Boggs said. .

“On D-Day, you will be offered a treasure hunt with a list of subjects to find a photograph along the way.

“You can take photos with a suitable camera or a phone camera.”

Mr. Boggs has years of experience behind the camera and is keen to offer advice to others.

“Beginning photographers interested in the Walk and developing their skills are also invited to workshops run by the photo club,” Mr. Boggs said.

“We run beginners courses about twice a year, with the next one on October 9.

“Participants will learn the technical aspects of using a camera and the art of taking pictures by understanding composition, light and shadow.

“We also run monthly contests where people can get feedback and have their photos published in CQ Today.”

The Worldwide Photo Walk is a free event open to community members, but registration is required.
