The Dallas Morning News is looking for paid freelancers to help with its unparalleled live coverage of high school football.

FREELANCE REPORTER FOR HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL

The Dallas Morning News The athletic department is looking for freelancers to produce statistics and stories for high school football games for the upcoming season. We are looking for candidates who already live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The work includes:

— Going to a game with a laptop and a wireless internet card (we provide them).

– Entering live game statistics.

— Writing a short summary of the game.

— The ability to take photos and videos on a smartphone if requested.

— Mandatory paid in-person training sessions. New applicants must attend one session in July (26th or 28th) AND one in August (2nd or 4th). All sessions are from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Applicants must have the following:

– A passion and understanding of high school football rules and statistics.

– Fast and accurate computer skills and ability to take statistics by hand if needed.

— Drive to do it right, do it fast.

– Ability to write effectively within deadlines.

— Ability to travel in and around the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

This part-time freelance opportunity is open to college students and others with high school football experience. It is paid.
