Hungry Artist Sale

The Danville Art League will hold a Hungry Artists Sale in November and December.

The original pieces will be on sale during opening hours, by appointment and during the Open House, Saturday, December 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Art League suggests that the artists’ work would make great one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts. The artwork will be priced affordably and several examples of faded color splashes will be included.

Family and friends are invited and encouraged to attend the open house.

Reservations open

Seat reservations are now open for “The Return of Buddy Egnew,” a World War II drama that premieres Nov. 11-12 at the Hoopeston Public Library.

Seats are limited for the three scheduled performances: 7 p.m. on November 11, 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on November 12.

Call 217-283-6711 to reserve your spot.

Church to hold the bazaar

St. Mary’s Church will hold its Christmas bazaar on November 19, 2022 at the gymnasium/parish center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

An on-site catering service will be offered. There will be homemade cinnamon rolls during breakfast time. The lunch menu includes soups and sandwiches served with fries. Westville’s well-known bakers will be offering desserts of pumpkin pie, brownies, Italian cream cake and pumpkin roll.

$500 is the top prize in the draw of 85 prizes plus gift cards, baskets and cash.

Raffle tickets are available from church members and also on bazaar day. Winners do not need to be present.

There will be a free draw every 15 minutes, usually local business gift cards, from 9:15 a.m. until 1 p.m. Winners must be present for this draw.

A tradition of homemade noodles started in 1995 with six family members continues today with new hands and new faces. The St. Mary Noodle Ladies will have a large supply of homemade noodles.
