Chubb Strengthens Its Leadership in P&C Activities in North America |


New appointments strengthen multinational teams and primary and surplus P&C teams, as well as key industry practices

WHITEHOUSE STATION, NJ, December 16, 2021 / CNW / – Chubb strengthened its leadership in its North America commercial damage firms with two new appointments, strengthening its multinational and multinational grassroots organizations as well as key industry practices.

Effective immediately, Seth gillston, Chubb’s current Private Equity and Real Estate & Hospitality Practice Leader, has been appointed Executive Vice President of Chubb’s Global Liability and Multinational Insurance Operations in North America. In this new role, he will oversee field operations for Chubb’s global and multinational operations, focusing on delivering the full range of the company’s capabilities and services to customers and channel partners through branch offices. American and Canadian Chubb. Mr. Gillston will report to Lou capparelli, Executive Vice President of Chubb’s Global Casualty Unit. In addition, Mr. Gillston will work closely with the Surplus P&C team to provide Chubb’s full line of primary, foreign and excess P&C insurance offerings to large accounts.

Mr. Gillston will continue to lead Chubb’s Private Equity practice, reporting to Matt Merna, first vice-president, Chubb Group and Division President, Key Accounts in North America, and will remain based in New York, New York State

As recently announced, Bill Hazelton has been appointed to a new role focused on a number of key strategic initiatives in North America companies, reporting to Jean Lupica, Vice President, Chubb Group and President, North America Insurance. In addition, he will also assume leadership of Chubb’s Real Estate and Hospitality practice, reporting to Mr. Merna. Mr. Hazelton will remain based in Whitehouse Station, NJ

Mr. Gillston has over 25 years of industry experience. He joined Chubb in 2000. Prior to the acquisition of Chubb in 2016, he served as Head of Chubb’s M&A and Private Equity Practice. Mr. Gillston received his Bachelor of Science degree with a double specialization in Risk Management and Business Economics. Temple University.

Mr. Hazelton joined Chubb in 2005 and has held a number of executive roles. Prior to his previous role as Claims Manager, he served as Chubb’s Practice Leader in the Environmental, Excessive Damage and Construction industry. He obtained a Master of Arts in History from Rutgers University, and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and History of James Madison University.
