Horizon Therapeutics signed a 192,000 square foot long-term lease to Alexandria Center Traville footbridge, a 500,000 square foot life sciences complex under development by Alexandria real estate actions on 18 acres in Rockville, Maryland.
The global life science company will occupy an entire building, which is the first under construction in the complex and is expected to be ready sometime in 2023.

The company operated approximately 32,000 square feet in two buildings in 1 MedImmune channel in Gaithersburg since its acquisition of Viela Bio in March and will move when space becomes available.

The new facility will also allow Horizon Therapeutics to quadruple its current footprint in Maryland and better pilot its ongoing efforts to develop new drugs for patients with rare, autoimmune and severe inflammatory diseases, he noted.
